JDR Subdivision in Walkerton opens

What was once a schoolyard will soon be a residential subdivision in Walkerton.

The ribbon was cut Wednesday to officially open a 75 lot development at the former site of Brant Central Public School.

Construction has already started on Fourth Street, and lots are now for sale. The JDR Development offers the option to purchase a lot and choose your own builder.

"This development is a welcomed addition to our community. Walkerton and the Community of Brockton is a great place to raise a family," said Mayor David Inglis. "We want to focus on bringing new families to Brockton and providing housing options for existing residents. This development brings us one step closer to that goal."

The Municipality of Brockton continues to work on the project with developers Joerg Weller, Ralph Haverkamp and Don Tremble from Candue Homes.
