Woman assaulted at Hanover grocery store

Hanover police are looking for a suspect who sexually assaulted a woman in a grocery store parking lot.

Police received a report this week about an incident that occurred at the Food Basics on 7th Avenue in Hanover on September 4 at 4 pm.

Police officers were told a female was sitting in her vehicle in the parking lot when she was approached by an unknown male who knocked on her driver’s side window.

When she lowered the window, the man reached inside the vehicle and touched her in a sexual manner and then walked away.

The victim was not physically injured during the assault.

The suspect is described as a white male, between 18-25 years old, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing approximately 150 pounds. He has medium length blonde/brown hair to his ears.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
