Child injured in dirt bike crash in Arthur

A five-year-old is fighting for his life in hospital after a dirt bike crash in Arthur.

The Ontario Provincial Police said on Wednesday around 6:30 p.m., officers, firefighters and EMS responded to a private property on Domville Street after the boy lost control of the 50cc dirt bike he was riding and struck a tree.

Police said the crash happened around dusk and the boy was wearing a helmet.

The five-year-old was rushed to a local hospital with serious life threatening injuries before being airlifted to a trauma centre.

The cause of the crash is being investigated by Wellington County OPP.
