Patriots Ride Early Lead to Victory

Mount Forest scored three times in the first period, including two just 16 seconds apart and went on to beat Mitchell 5-2 in PJHL action last night.

Brody Leblanc got things started just 2:39 into the game. Luke Hoelscher and Troy Weber scored 16 seconds apart just past the midway point to make it 3-0 Mount Forest.

Nathan Hall answered, shorthanded for the Hawks with six minutes left in the opening frame and Ethan Hill also scored shorthanded with 56 seconds left in the period to make it 3-2 Mount Forest heading into the second.

Will Black and Thomas Coulter put the Patriots on the board in the middle frame. Neither team scored in the third.

Liam Burke and Jack Birkett each set up two for the Patriots. Coulter and Weber also had two point nights with a goal and an assist each.

David Lobsinger made 17 saves for the Patriots. Zach Weber allowed foru goals on 25 shots before being replaced in the second by Bobby McLachlan who stopped 24 of 25 shots in relief for Mitchell.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
