Owen Sound police looking for hit-and-run suspect

Police are looking for a suspect after a hit-and-run incident in Owen Sound.

The Owen Sound Police Service said on Friday around 11:50 a.m., a 2017 Ford utility vehicle was struck by a gray-coloured van that was travelling south at the intersection of 9th Avenue and 19th Street East.  The vehicle, which is believed to have considerable damage to the driver’s side, was seen fleeing the scene heading north on 9th Avenue East.

Later in the day, police were called to 28th Avenue East near Highway 26 after a similar van was spotted in the ditch. Before officers arrived, however, the driver had managed to get the vehicle back onto the road and leave the area.

Police cannot confirm if it was the same vehicle involved in both incidents.
