Frost advisory for Bruce, Grey, Huron, Perth and Wellington

Some areas of Midwestern Ontario will definitely feel the chilly nip of autumn this weekend.

Environment Canada has issued a frost advisory for all of Perth County, Huron County southern Grey County and northern Wellington County for Saturday night. It was later expanded to cover all of Huron County and Bruce.

The weather agency is forecasting temperatures lows to flirt with the freezing mark late Saturday and into Sunday morning. Lows are forecast between 1 C and 3 C across the region.

Frost may damage some crops in frost-prone areas. Environment Canada suggests taking preventative measures to protect frost-sensitive plants and trees.

Frost advisories are issued when temperatures are expected to reach the freezing mark during the growing season, leading to potential damage and destruction to plants and crops.
