Cannabis growing operation expanding to Goderich

An expansion of the 7 Acres cannabis growing operation in Kincardine could create 20 to 30 new jobs in Goderich.

7 Acres General Manager Ram Davloor said the Goderich operation would be primarily for research and development to build product lines, which would include new strains as well as new products.

"Initially it will be small, you know, just as we did in the Kincardine facility, we'd be looking at 20 to 30 people, but as we build out the facility it'll just keep building and I can't really tell you the plans for that right now, in fact, a lot of that hasn't been firmed up," said Davloor.

He said they hope to be in the new building early next year but that will depend on when they get their licence from Health Canada.

The new operation in Goderich will also have a new name.
