Minto's development charge account grew substantially in 2017

Minto is sitting on a nest egg of money collected in development charges.

Those charges are designed to make new development pay its own way.

A report to Minto council shows the development charge account stands at $743,000 as of the end of 2017. That’s up from $481,000 one year previously.

Treasurer Gordon Duff says the increase is a reflection of the amount of new development enjoyed by Minto in recent years.
