Bomb threat to 911 dispatcher lands Owen Sound man in jail

The Owen Sound Police Service had a bomb threat on their hands for a short time Thursday.

The Communications Centre received a call shortly after 1 p.m. from a man demanding he be transferred to another agency.

Before a dispatcher could assist him, he became extremely irate and made comments about an emergency situation, him becoming Rambo, and that there was a bomb threat.

Police quickly identified the accused, who was found walking along 6th Street East. He was arrested, and police confirmed that he did not have any explosives.

A 48-year-old man was charged with public mischief and held for a bail hearing Friday.
