Frook and Vandenheuvel Lead Hawks to Victory

Jonathan Frook and Ian Vandenheuvel each struck twice in the Exeter Hawks 5-1 win over Port Stanley. Jon Baker had three assists in the win

Frook opened the scoring midway through the first period, giving the Hawks a 1-0 lead heading into the second.

Port Stanley's Brady Allen scored on the power play to make it a tie game with just over five minutes left to play in the middle frame. Vandenheuvel scored his first of the game with 25 seconds left in the second to give the Hawks a one goal lead going into the third.

Frook found the back of the net just under four minutes into the third to give the Hawks some insurance. Vandenheuvel extended Exeter's lead just over a minute-and-a-half later. Troy Kennedy also scored for the Hawks with less than 60 seconds left in the game.

The Hawks out shot the Sailors 52-25. Ryan Langford put up a valiant fight in net for the Sailors. Nathan Young earned the win for the Hawks.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
