CKNX Health Care Heroes Radiothon

Updated at 4 p.m.

The 17th annual CKNX Health Care Heroes Radiothon wrapped up with a bang.

The event to help local hospital foundations raise money for new hospital equipment raised a total of $313,419.

That pushes the event total well over the $11 million mark over the 17 years.

Our own John Marshall spoke about the Radiothon and how important even the smallest donation is to these hospitals.

"If we all give a little, we all can get a lot," said Marshall.

He also spoke about how adding entertainment in recent years has made the event even more special not just for the people there but the performers.

"It allows these performers to get air time and to entertain and for us it adds an element that isn't just a bunch of people begging for money, it makes it fun," added Marshall.

You can still donate by visiting cknx.ca and clicking on events or contact your local hospital foundation.

The hospital foundations that are involved include; Wingham, Listowel, Goderich, Chesley, Palmerston, Mount Forrest, Seaforth and Clinton.
