Barons ride early lead to victory

Hanover jumped out to a two goal lead by the halfway point of the opener period and went on to beat Mitchell 4-1.

Alex Paylor got the scoring started at 3:21 of the first. Mark Aljoe scored at 10:06 to make it 2-0 Hanover.

Kyler Borth put the Barons up by three with a goal at 6:10 of the second. Mitchell's Spencer Dowd scored on the power play at 14:21 of the second to finally put the Hawks on the board.

Noah Calvert-Goetz scored the Barons' fourth goal of the game just past the midway point of the third. Calvert-Goetz also had an assist in the win.

Brock Phillips picked up two points with a pair of helpers for Hanover.

Brendon Landry earned the win with 28 saves. Bobby McLachlan stopped 30 shots for the Hawks.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
