Police charge Grey Highlands man in connection with farm death of young boy

Grey County OPP have charged a 32-year-old man in connection to a farming accident that resulted in the death of a four-year-old boy.

On August 31 at 2:33 p.m., Grey County OPP responded to an incident at a farm property on the 3rd Concession in the Municipality of Grey Highlands. Grey County Paramedic Services and Southgate Dundalk Fire Department assisted. The accident involved farm equipment being operated by the occupant at the farm. The four-year-old boy suffered life threatening injuries and was taken to local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

As a result, police have charged 32-year-old Emanuel Bauman of Grey Highlands with causing death by criminal negligence. He will make his first court appearance on November 22 in Owen Sound.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
