OHL Wrap: Attack Lose to Spitfires

Windsor 6 Owen Sound 1

Markus Phillips was the lone scorer for the Attack as Owen Sound lost 6-1 to Windsor.

Curtis Douglas and Jordan Frasca each struck twice for the Spitfires. Chris Playfair had a goal an ad assist and Jean-Luc Foudy set up two in the win.

Andrew MacLean stopped 28 shots for the Attack. Michael DiPietro made 33 saves for the Spitfires.

Guelph 4 Sault Ste. Marie 3 (OT)

Ryan Merkley scored the game winner in overtime as the Guelph Storm edged Sault Ste. Marie 4-3.

The Storm jumped out to a three goal lead before the midway point of the first and were up 3-0 heading into the second.

Morgan Frost put the Greyhounds on the board at 6:09 of the middle frame to make it 3-1 Guelph heading into the third.

Cullen McLean scored for the Soo just over two minutes into the third and Ryan Roth forced extra time with a goal less than three minutes later.

Anthony Popovich earned the win with 23 saves. Matthew Villalta stopped 27 for the Greyhounds.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
