Huron Respite Network host open house In Clinton

Huron-Bruce M-P-P Lisa Thompson joined staff at the Huron Respite Network in Clinton for an open house to highlight their Friends and Neighbours Respite project.

According to Community Living Executive Director Rosemary Foran, Friends and Neighbours is a Huron County program that helps families find providers who can help them care for children or adults with special needs. Foran says they provide hourly respite or overnight respite to families, and the program also provides a unique respite plan for each family it helps.

Foran says the program provides a break for the family so they can continue to be resilient and care for their family member. Foran says they've set a goal of helping at least one hundred people in Huron County. The program is funded through a two-year Trillium grant. Foran says they are well on their way to meeting their goal of 100.

"We're at about the one-year mark and we do believe we'll be on target with our one hundred," said Foran.
