Lockout by Grey County roads workers averted

Unionized roads workers in Grey County have a tentative contract to look over.

The settlement was reached Monday during mediation between representatives of CUPE Local 1530 and Grey County.

No details will be released until the membership holds a ratification vote.    The deal must also be ratified by the County.

Local 1530 represents roughly 60 full-time and part-time or seasonal roads workers, who do everything from snow plowing, bridge maintenance, and road repair.
