Hanover Youth Charged With Theft And Stealing A Rifle

A 17-year-old male has been arrested after a theft in Hanover.

Officers were called to a report of a robbery on November 1st in Hanover's 300 block of 10th street East. The victim told police that a male associate approached him and demanded money for an owed debt. When the male brandished a knife, a bag was handed over as collateral and he fled on foot.

Hanover Police officers located and arrested the male on November 7th. The knife was recovered. He's charged with robbery and violating the terms of an earlier court order. Furthermore, a stolen rifle was also recovered.

The youth was taken for a bail hearing in Walkerton where he was remanded into custody pending his next court date.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
