Scammer targeting elderly residents again

There's another warning from the OPP about an ongoing phone scam.

Police say if you receive a call indicating that you have won a large amount of money or a new vehicle from an international lottery, hang up the phone, because it's not true.

Earlier this week, an elderly resident of Norfolk County received several calls indicating that the home owner had won various prizes in a lottery.    The caller informed the resident that someone would be visiting their home very soon to award the prizes.

The victim became afraid that this unknown individual was going to show up, and called police.

Provincial Police advise everyone to hang up the phone if you get a call like this.
