'Takeover Day' Saturday at Huron County Museum

Elementary school students will take over the Huron County Museum in Goderich this Saturday.

The grade four to six students are part of the Avon Maitland District School Board's SOAR program.

Museum Curator Sinead Cox explains the students have already had a training day with a mentor from each department, and they will be in charge of the entire museum on Saturday afternoon.

As a group, they will present their own exhibit, called 'Dinner Back Then'. It focuses on artifacts from the collection, making and serving food from the 19th century through to 1940.

There will be activities for families, and it runs from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday.

At the request of the students, admission to Takeover Day will be a cash donation to the Huron County Food Bank.
