New volleyball league in Grey and Bruce

A new local volleyball league is launching for teenaged boys in Grey and Bruce.

The Big Bruce Volleyball Club is hosting two open tryouts for boys born in the year 2000 or later, on December 4th and 11th at Chesley District Community School from 7:00 to 9:30pm.

The program will then run Tuesday evenings from December to April in the same time slot. The program is being run by Barry Mutrie, a former Chesley Cougars’ senior volleyball coach, and former captain and assistant coach of the Ontario provincial team.

Registration is $150 and includes OVA registration, insurance, practices, two sets of uniform shirts, shorts and league fees. Interested players can contact Barry Mutrie at 1-519-270-4461 or by e-mail at abmut01@gmail.com before the first practice on December 4th .

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
