OPP Investigating Fire That Claimed Life Of 59-Year-Old Male

The identity of an Owen Sound male who died as a result of a house fire has been revealed.

On November 15th at 7:24 pm, Grey County OPP and Bruce Peninsula OPP responded to a house fire on Grey Road 1, in Georgian Bluffs. Officers were unable to gain entry into the residence due to the extensive smoke inside. Inter-Township Fire Department and South Bruce Peninsula Fire Department arrived to extinguish the fire.

A male was located in the residence and transported by Bruce County Paramedic Services to hospital. He was pronounced deceased in hospital and has been identified as Brian Wade, 59-years-old, of Owen Sound. The Grey County OPP Crime Unit are investigating the circumstances of this incident. The Ontario Office of the Fire Marshal will be assisting with the investigation.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
