Exeter and Mitchell win close games

Wingham 3 Alliston 1

Logan Tolton scored on the power play less than three minutes into the game and Wingham went on to beat Alliston 3-1.

Jamie Huber's goal at 3:17 of the third would stand as the game winner. Kyle Stanbury put the Ironmen up 3-0 midway through the final frame with Wingham's second power play goal of the game.

Finn Reeves put the Hornets on the board with less than 30 seconds left in regulation, spoiling Devon Carson's shut out bid.

Exeter 6 Lambeth 5

Jon Baker struck twice, including the game winner on a penalty shot, and the Exeter Hawks hung on to beat Lambeth 6-5.

Lambeth led 2-0 after the first and Exeter scored three unanswered goals in the second to put the Hawks up 3-2 heading into the third.

Carter McLlwain scored on the power play less than a minute into the final frame to make it 4-2 Exeter. Lambeth answered just over a minute later and Baker scored at 6:05 to put the Hawks up 5-3.

Brody Smith scored for the Lancers at 12:20 of the third and Brock Trichilo took advantage of having an extra attacker on the ice and put Lambeth within a goal with just 49 seconds left.

Both Baker and McLlwain had four point games with a pair of goals and two assists each.

Mount Forest 8 Stayner 4

Michael Stefanelli struck twice and set up another in Mount Forest's 8-4 win over Stayner.

Michael Anselmini scored a pair of goals and Thomas Haffner set up three for the Patriots.

Other scorers for Mount Forest: Jack Birkett, Luke Hoelscher and Owen Rahn.

Mitchell 5 Kincardine 5 (OT)

Jarett Bogdon scored the game winner a 4:56 of the extra frame and Mitchell edged Kincardine 6-5.

Nathan Hall, Ethan Hill, Braeden Brudett and Riley Keupfer also scored for the Hawks.

Mike Fiegehen scored back-to-back goals for Kincardine in the third to tie the game and send into overtime.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
