Fatal crash east of Stratford Tuesday morning

A section of Highway 8, east of Stratford was closed Tuesday morning due to a fatal two-vehicle collision.

Perth County Paramedics Services, the OPP, and Stratford Fire Department responded around 8 a.m. to the scene in Perth East.

A 44-year-old man who was the driver of a car was pronounced dead in hospital.

A 68-year-old man who was driving a pickup truck is being treated in hospital for non-life threatening injuries.  No names have been released.

That section of Highway 8 east of Stratford reopened about 2 p.m.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
