Splash pad approved for Mount Forest park

Wellington North council has approved the expenditure of $156,000 for a splash pad at the Bill Moody playground in Mount Forest.

The committee with the job of selecting the tender for the splash pad did not choose the lowest price, which was about $6,000 cheaper.

Councillor Sherry Burke, who heads the committee, said members had a strong preference for the more expensive model and they feel that it will be possible to fundraise for the more expensive design.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
