SIU terminates investigation into Kincardine man's death

The Special Investigations Unit has found that police were not responsible for a man's death near Kincardine.

Police arrived at a home near Side Road 10 and South Line for a report of a domestic dispute early in the morning of October 31 of this year.

Based on information received, the officers went to a second residence in the area of Lake Range Drive and Concession Road 10. The officers left after speaking with a 45-year-old man of interest and another individual.

Emergency services returned to the residence that morning after receiving information that the 45-year-old man's vital signs could not be detected. First aid was performed on the man and he was transported to the hospital. He was pronounced dead at 9:36 a.m.

The SIU determined that man’s death was of a medical nature and not caused by police. The investigation has since ended.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
