Driver succumbs to injuries following crash near Meaford

A Grey Highlands man has died in hospital following a two-vehicle collision east of Meaford last week that sent two other people to hospital.

The Ontario Provincial Police report that on November 12, an eastbound pick-up truck and a westbound car collided head-on on Highway 26.

The driver of the pick-up truck, 56-year-old James Salomon of Grey Highlands, was airlifted to hospital with life-altering injuries.  He has since succumbed to his injuries.

A 34-year-old woman who was driving the car suffered life threatening injuries in the crash, and an 8-year-old male passenger suffered serious injuries.  The two remain in hospital in stable condition.

The cause is still under investigation, police said.

OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators responded to the scene following the crash and assisted with the investigation.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
