A-C-W Reeve expects gravel pit appeal

The Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh will likely have to go to court to defend it's decision to approve a gravel pit on the Durst/Brydon Farms.

Outgoing Reeve Ben Van Diepenbeek said they approved the zoning change from general agriculture to extractive resources, and they approved the necessary bylaw.

Since then, they have received one appeal to that decision.

Van Diepenbeek said he's not sure exactly what the next steps in the process are but he believes the township will have to defend its position in court, and there will be costs involved.
