Saugeen Shores could still host Nuclear Innovation Institute

Saugeen Shores is still in the running to be the home to the planned Nuclear Innovation Institute.

Bruce Power has written a letter to Saugeen Shores Council to say they will work with the municipality to consider locating the facility there.

Earlier this month plans to build the institute next to the Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre in Southampton were cancelled due to ongoing opposition from some residents to host it at that location.

Bruce Power's letter says in order for the N-I-I to be successful, total support is required of the host community, adding Bruce Power appreciates the strong supportive messages received from the Town.
