GOJHL Wrap: Cyclones let lead slip

The Listowel Cyclones let a two goal lead slip, falling 7-5 to Elmira.

Hunter Dubecki led the Sugar Kings with a pair of goals and an assits. Damian Figueira scored and set up two for Elmira.

The Cyclones were led by Holdyn Lansink with a goal and two assists. Chayse Herrfort, Jonah White, Steven Grant and Jacob Bloomfield also scored for Listowel.

Figueria's goal at 18:37 of the third would stand as the game winner. Jeremy Goodwin scored on an empty Cyclones net with 1:06 left to play to add insurance for the Sugar Kings.

Waterloo 8 Brantford 3

Waterloo jumped out to an early two goal lead in the first and scored four more in the second en route to an 8-3 win over Brantford.

Sam Spaedt scored and set up four more of the Siskins goals. Jeff Schrattner had a pair of goals and two assists in the win. Alex Lycett scored twice and had one helper in the win and Brett Schaefer also found the back of the net twice for the Siskins.

Matt Onuska made 29 saves for Waterloo. Kevin Donaghey stopped 23 of 29 shots before being replaced by Frank Boal in the second. He made 16 saves on 18 shots in relief.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
