Five injured in fiery crash near Mount Forest

Two people are fighting for their lives and three others had to be pulled from a burning vehicle following a two-vehicle crash near Mount Forest.

The Ontario Provincial Police reported the crash on Concession 6 between Highway 89 and Sideroad 2 East, on Monday at around 8:30 a.m.

A 69-year-old man and another man in his 40s were both rushed to hospital with life threatening injuries. They have since been transferred to a trauma centre in critical condition.

Police said a young mother and two small children were pulled out of an SUV involved in the crash after it caught fire. The three were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.

Concession 6 between Highway 89 and Sideroad 2 East was closed to traffic for several hours while officers conducted an investigation.  The road has since been reopened.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
