Moorefield man killed in crash near Drayton

One man is dead and another is in hospital following a head-on crash near Drayton.

The Ontario Provincial Police reported on Wednesday just after 4:30 p.m. that a car and a pickup truck collided head-on while travelling on Wellington County Road 8 in Mapleton Township.

The driver of the car, 20-year-old Lukas Popovic of Moorefield, died as a result of the crash.

The 35-year-old driver of the pickup was treated in hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

There were no passengers in either vehicle.

A Wellington County OPP investigation is ongoing.
