UPDATE: Freezing rain warning for southern Grey

Travel could be slow, wet and slick in Midwestern Ontario this weekend.

Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for southern Grey County for Saturday afternoon through early Sunday morning.

A batch of precipitation is moving into the region and will begin as freezing rain, according to the weather agency. Several hours of freezing rain are possible before temperatures rise and change it to plain rain in the overnight hours. As a result, travel may be tricky as parking lots, bridges and roadways may become icy.

This round of wet weather is being blamed on a Colorado low that is moving through southern Ontario.

A special weather statement issued for Bruce and northern Grey ended shortly after midnight Sunday.
