West Grey Council sworn in at inaugural meeting

The new mayor of West Grey promises accountability and transparency.

Christine Robinson was sworn in Monday morning along with her new council. Five of the seven councillors are new to the position this year, including Robinson.

She said she is looking forward to the coming challenges and working with her council.

"We are stewards of the environment, of our finances, our infrastructure so collectively we will make the right decisions on behalf of West Grey," said Robinson.

Robinson is a former CAO of West Grey, holding the position from 2006 to 2013. She defeated long-time mayor Kevin Eccles in the recent municipal election.

Tom Hutchinson is the new deputy mayor.
