Collision between school bus and transport truck closes highway in Wellington North

A collision involving a school bus closed part of a roadway in Wellington North Tuesday morning.

On Tuesday at  7:36 am, Wellington North Police responded to a collision on Highway 89 near Wellington Road 16 involving a tractor trailer and a school bus.

An investigation revealed that the bus had slowed down to complete a turn when the transport truck rear-ended the bus.

The driver of the school bus was taken to local hospital with minor injuries, while the truck driver was unharmed. There were no students on the bus at the time of the collision.

As a result, a 44-year-old male driver from Petrolia has been charged with careless driving.
