New North Huron Reeve wants to consider amalgamation

The new Reeve of North Huron wants to open discussions with the Municipality of Morris-Turnberry about amalgamation.

Bernie Bailey made the remarks during his first official council meeting, repeating his call for the two townships to come together as one.

Bailey said this is something he's always been interested in.

"We have the infrastructure, and they have the land," he said and added that he soon hopes to bring the two councils together to "have an honest, complete talk about where we can go with this so all of our constituents can benefit."
