Drug trafficking charges in Goderich arrest

The Huron-Perth Ontario Provincial Police Community Street Crimes Unit has made an arrest after several months of investigation into drug trafficking.

The OPP got a tip about a potential suspect earlier this year, which resulted in a traffic stop in Goderich last Thursday.

At about 4:30 p.m., a vehicle was located in a commercial parking lot on Huron Road and a driver was arrested and searched.

Police seized methamphetamine, Oxycodone, cannabis marijuana, cannabis resin and an open container of alcohol. The estimated, combined value of the seized controlled substances is $10,810. Police also seized offence-related property consisting of Canadian currency, electronic devices, drug packaging materials and a Toyota Corolla valued at approximately $5,000.

Russell Brandon, 52, from Central Huron has been charged several offences including possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine and Oxycodone.

He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for January 21, 2019, at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich.
