Remarkable citizens to be recognized in Huron-Bruce

Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson will be announcing the winners in her Remarkable Citizens program in a few weeks.

Nominations have been received from across the riding, nd will be announced on January 9 in Teeswater.

Thompson said there are so many people in every community that lead by example, and all of those communities benefit from their volunteerism and engagement.

The Remarkable Citizens Awards evening will be hosted by Lisa Thompson during her annual New Year's Levee event.

It's scheduled for Wednesday, January 9 at the Teeswater Town Hall at 7 p.m. If necessary, the "snow date" will be January 16.

"Volunteers are the lifeblood of every community, and I have been blessed with the opportunity to meet so many across the riding," Lisa Thompson said. "They help make their communities better in so many different and impactful ways and I look forward to honouring even more citizens from our riding this year."

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
