Meaningful Markets celebrated in Huron County

Huron County's Economic Development Department hosted its first Meaningful Market this week at the Brussels Four Winds Barn.

The event featured a wide range of products from jewelry that's been made from products found within the county, coasters, and clothing that's made right in Huron County. Even food vendors, brewers and wineries primarily used ingredients from the area.

Communications Officer Katie Marshall said the event is a celebration of local social enterprise businesses.

"People are starting to become more aware of what they're putting out into the world and what they're giving back to the community and it's becoming part of their story with their brand, along with what they're selling," said Marshall. "It's what they're giving back, and that's really what the event here is all about."

Marshall said they hope to make the Meaningful Market and annual event.
