Check your medications before the holidays

The Huron-Perth Healthcare Alliance has some timely advice as we move closer to the holidays.

Chief Nursing Executive Anne Campbell said people who are on regular medication should make sure they have adequate supplies, because some local pharmacies and hospital ER departments will be operating on reduced hours.

"We have a habit of not checking our stock of things until we need them," said Campbell. "So when you know there's going to be a change in the hours of services over the holidays, those are the times to look and say do I have all these things in case something happens."

Campbell also suggested you find out what the office hours are of your doctor, and do any follow-up that's needed before they close for holidays.
