Minto hosts public meeting on future cannabis sales

Minto is going to the public on the question of the retail sale of cannabis.

Council has until January 22 to decide whether to opt in or opt out of allowing retail sales.

A public meeting on the subject will be held on January 8 at the Harriston Community Complex, at 5:30 p.m.

An online survey is also being conducted through the Minto website.

Council’s decision will not make a lot of difference in the short term. The first 25 Ontario licenses will be going to municipalities with a population of at least 50,000.
