High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

You can expect partly cloudy in the morning, with rain in the afternoon

If you are headed are heading to a New Year's Eve party -- plan ahead.
RIDE programs will be set up as part of the OPP's Provincial Traffic Safety Program and police stress there is no safe level of alcohol or drug consumption when driving.
If you are stopped and register a Blood Alcohol Concentration in the "warn range", that could mean an immediate driver's licence suspension.
Over the legal limit means a 90 day driver's licence suspension, a court appearance and the vehicle is impounded for 7 days.
