Lincolns win back-and-forth affair against LaSalle

Blair Butchart scored and set up two more as the St. Marys Lincolns edged the LaSalle Vipers 4-3.

It was a back-and-forth affair with Butchart opening the scoring with a short handed goal at 6:23 of the first. Matt Carvalho answered for the Vipers with 2:40 left in the opening frame.

Aaron Shaw gave LaSalle the lead with a goal at 12:34 of the second. Joe Mazur scored on the power play in the dying second of the middle frame to tie the game once more.

Justin McIntyre and Andrew Casasanta scored just over a minute apart early in the third to put the Lincolns up 4-2. Colton Krzeminski put the LaSalle within a point midway through the final frame.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
