Suspect on the loose after ramming police cruisers

Police are searching for a suspect after a fleeing pickup truck rammed two police cruisers and injured one officer south of Paisley.

The Ontario Provincial Police said on Thursday just before 8:30 a.m., officers were investigating the truck at an address on Greenock-Elderslie Townline in the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie, when a suspect in the vehicle fled the scene, and struck two police vehicles. One officer then fired a service weapon at the suspect with "unknown results".

An officer was injured in the crash caused by the driver and was taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

The vehicle is described as a black Dodge 3500 Dually pickup truck, with bar lights on the top.  It's believed there was just one person in the vehicle at the time of the incident.

An investigation is ongoing and anyone with information about the pickup truck or the driver is asked to call police at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
