"Icetacular" events returning to Goderich

It will be an Icetacular weekend in Goderich in February.

The annual event is set for the first weekend of the month and spokesperson Elizabeth Van den Broeck says the popular the 40 foot ice slide will be back.

Something new this year is a game called Croko-Curl.     As the name would suggest, it's a mix of crokinole and curling and is popular in Western Canada.

She explains it's played on an ice crokinole rink about 30 feet in diameter.    The stone is a plastic bleach bottle filled with water that has been frozen and that has to be thrown, as you would throw a curling stone, through the pegs on the rink and into the hole in the middle.

Goderich council is supporting the event with $5,000 in funding.

A complete schedule of events and times can be found on the Icetacular Facebook page.
