Homeowner calls 9-1-1 after hearing noise outside

Three Grey County men are facing charges following what police say was an attempted vehicle theft in Dufferin County.

Police were called shortly before 5:00 a.m. Tuesday by a homeowner in Mulmur Township, who heard noise outside.

Responding OPP officers located a man who was attempting to steal the homeowner's vehicle.    Two other men were found nearby and all three were arrested.

A 29-year-old from Chatsworth, a 26-year-old from Hanover, and a 36-year-old from Grey Highlands appeared for bail hearings in court in Orangeville.

Charges against the trio include possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5000, and trespassing at night.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
