Snow on top of icy roads and sidewalks

Motorists are facing an icy drive in many parts of our region today - and even walking is quite slippery, and could lead to injury.

Freezing drizzle late yesterday and overnight left a coating of ice on roads, parking lots and sidewalks.

The freezing drizzle has changed to flurries across a large section of our area.

Some of the major routes have snowcovered and slushy sections.    A gusty wind will reduce visibility because of blowing snow.

Plows and sanders are making regular patrols.
