Arrest made after stabbing in Owen Sound

A 29-year-old man is facing several charges after one person was hospitalized with a stab wound.

The Owen Sound Police Service said during the early morning hours on Friday, a male victim was stabbed while sitting in the driver’s seat of a rented motor vehicle that was parked in a municipal lot on 3rd Avenue East near 9th Street East.

The victim was able to take himself to a local hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and released.

On Tuesday, police arrested a suspect in connection with the stabbing and seized several knives, a BB handgun cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana.

A 29-year-old man of no fixed address is now charged with assault with a weapon, along with several other drug and weapon offences. He is also charged with breaching several court orders. The man is being held in police custody until a bail hearing on Wednesday.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
