Three now seek federal Conservative nomination in Bruce-Grey

A Kimberley resident has declared his intention to seek the Conservative Party nomination for the Bruce-Grey Owen Sound riding.

Rick Byers joins two others who want the federal riding nomination, now that current MP Larry Miller is not seeking another term.

Byers said problems like insufficient pipelines and ongoing deficits need to be tackled by someone who has the right skills and experience. Rick retired from a 32-year career in infrastructure, finance, accounting and government.

He has served as president of the Bruce-Grey Owen Sound Conservative and Progressive Conservative Associations, he was Campaign Manager for Bill Walker’s successful 2018 re-election campaign, and was part of Larry Miller's campaign team in 2015.

The other two declared candidates are Alex Ruff and Chad Richards.
