UPDATE: Missing woman found deceased

Saugeen Shores police have confirmed that a woman reported missing has been found dead.

Sergeant Andy Evans said Saturday afternoon that Kathryn Dereski who was last seen Friday afternoon, has been located and is deceased. No other details are being released at this time.

The Port Elgin native was last seen around 4:30 pm in the parking lot of a convenience store on Goderich St. in Port Elgin. She was described as a white female, 5’11, 160 lbs with short wavy strawberry blonde hair, blue-green eyes, and a medium build. She was last seen wearing a grey knee-length winter coat, grey toque, leather mittens and winter boots.

Police are thanking the public and the media for their help in bringing this case to a conclusion and are asking for the family's privacy to be respected.
