GOJHL: Listowel nearly shuts out Kitchener, Stratford and Waterloo win

Stratford 6 Brantford 2

Kameron Shearer scored and had two assists in the Stratford Warriors 6-2 win over Brantford.

Sean Ross had a pair of goals in the win and Evan Dowd added a goal and an assist for the Warriors.

Stratford capitalized on both of it's power play opportunities in the game, scoring twice with the man advantage.

Listowel 2 Kitchener 1

Jeb Paulsen spoiled Evan Morrison's shut out bid, scoring with 91 seconds left in regulation with an extra attacker on the ice but Listowel still beat Kitchener 2-1.

Darcy Winkler put the Cyclones on the board at 18:10 of the first period. Brayden Krieger scored late in the third to give Listowel a 2-0 lead.

Morrison made 25 saves in the victory. Lucas Patton stopped 23 shots for the Dutchmen.

Waterloo 5 Elmira 1

Joseph Serpa had a hat trick in the Waterloo Siskins 5-1 win over Elmira. Alex Lycett scored and had an assist in the win.

Mason McMahon was the lone scorer for the Sugar Kings.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
